Southgate Dental began treating patients on Wed 18th Sept. 2013.
We are thrilled to say that our first year was a very positive and busy one, and we are extremely excited to see what the coming years have in store for us. Our clinic and staff have gone from strength to strength, seeing almost 2000 patients so far, with a team that has increased in size from 2 to 10. We hope to continue this success in the future and strive to provide the best possible service and care to all our patients.
The staff at Southgate Dental Clinic (SDC) are delighted to welcome you and your family to our state of the art dental practice at Southgate Shopping Centre, in Drogheda. Approx. 30mins from Dublin and 1hr from Belfast, with free onsite parking. One of our aims and objectives, is to ensure that all our patients feel relaxed and comfortable in a welcoming and friendly environment. We try to ensure that only the surgical areas feel clinical and that our open plan reception, waiting and communal areas are clean, have good facilities and are well maintained and friendly, a place where our patients can chat, read and relax.
Collectively the staff at SDC have been providing calm, professional, cost effective dental care for over 30 years, both in Ireland and abroad, with excellent aesthetic results. We are a modern, general and specialist practice who can provide a full spectrum of dental treatments, using only the highest standards and materials. Ranging from your annual check-up and clean to Implants and Orthodontics (Braces). We are currently one of 10 dental practices in Ireland with a cone beam CT scan.
All of these facilities in one location mean there is no longer a need for referral as our team of Dentists and Specialists are available under one roof, for your convenience. Thus saving, you, our patient valuable time.

Dr. Roka is Southgate’s Principle Dentist, Oral Surgeon and owner.
He is registered with the Irish and General Dental Council’s (IDC & GDC) as both a general dentist and specialist Oral Surgeon. Dr. Roka is also a member of the IDA, ADI and the newly formed Irish Association of Oral Surgery IAOS. He is an enthusiastic, conscientious dentist/surgeon and wants to offer all of his patients the best possible care that he can. Having this in the forefront of his mind Dr. Roka likes to keep abreast of what is going on in the dental industry, and keep up to date with his CPD (Continued Professional Development).
Dr. Roka graduated as DMD in general dentistry from Medical University of Pecs, Hungary in 2001. He then went on to specialise in Oral Surgery in Hungary where he graduated in 2009. He trained in both dental implant surgery and restoration of the dental prosthesis so he does both the surgery and the restoration. After graduation Dr. Roka worked in Hungary till he moved to Ireland in 2012. He was working as specialist Oral Surgeon in Carlow until he opened his own clinic, Southgate Dental in Drogheda. Where he now also lives with his wife and three children.
Dr. Robert Szendi. General Dentist, Special Interest in Endodontics
Dr. Szendi is Southgate’s fulltime General Dentist and is registered with the Irish Dental Council (IDC). Dr. Szendi graduated from Faculty of Dentistry, University of Szeged, Hungary in 2010. He worked in a private practice in Hungary and also held lectures in the University of Szeged, before moving to Ireland in May 2014, where we are delighted to welcome him as an experienced professional member of the team.
Having taken part in a post graduate programme for prosthodontics & restorative dentistry. Dr. Szendi has a keen interest in these areas and also in endodontics (root canal treatment). He has a good eye for detail and it is important to him that he provides his patients with successful treatments and excellent aesthetic results.
Dr. Anna Sarvari. Registered Specialist in Orthodontics
Dr. Sarvari is Southgate’s Orthodontist and is also registered as a general dentist with the Irish Dental Council (IDC). Dr. Sarvari graduated as a general dentist in 2005 and as a Specialist Orthodontist in 2008 from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. She has submitted her application for Irelands Specialist Registration which she will have very soon. Dr. Sarvari attends Southgate Dental Clinic for 1.5 weeks per month to continue activations of the rapidly increasing number of patients she has under active treatment. She cares passionately about the functional and aesthetic position of her patient’s teeth/bite. Having gone on to specialise in Orthodontics she always does her very best and takes great enjoyment in providing her patients with a better smile, thus giving them the confidence to smile more for which they are eternally grateful.
All the staff at Southgate Dental, including our nurses and receptionists are an integral part of our team. We like to consider ourselves a well-oiled machine, everybody knows and understands their role and we all work together to ensure our patients receive an excellent level of care and service from start to finish.
Ms. Emma Murphy. Practice Manager
Emma Murphy is Southgate Dental’s practice manager. She qualified, with distinction, as a dental nurse from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2009. Emma has worked as a dental nurse in various disciplines of dentistry including general, endodontics and orthodontics. In 2008 Emma moved from nursing to Practice Manager of a Specialist Orthodontic Clinic in Dublin Ireland. Southgate Dental is Emma’s third Practice Manager role. Her ability to deal with customers, her focus on excellent customer care and her relationship with all staff is second to none as she cares passionately about the service provided and the environment in which it’s done..
